In Memory of Dave Lauer

For three decades, Dave Lauer embodied the very best of The Whitfield School—leadership grounded in integrity, compassion, and a steadfast belief in the power of community. His impact as a coach, mentor, and colleague reached far beyond the fields and courts, shaping the lives of countless students and families.

In recognition of his extraordinary legacy, the Lauer Family has made a generous gift to endow The Whitfield School Athletic Hall of Fame event and the physical Hall of Fame wall on campus in perpetuity. This endowment ensures that Dave’s story—his love of athletics, his service to the School, and his commitment to excellence—will continue to inspire future generations. Through this lasting tribute, the spirit that guided Dave’s life will remain a visible and celebrated part of Whitfield’s culture. His example reminds us that true leadership is measured not in accolades but in the lives we touch and the values we uphold.

I am grateful for the journey, however it may end.
