Phabienne (Parker) Anderson ’01
Athlete - Field Hockey, Cross Country, Basketball, Track & Field
During her Whitfield career, Phabienne made a positive impact in Whitfield’s field hockey, cross country, basketball and track & field programs.
When the track & field program began in 1999, Phabienne was instrumental in building the foundation that would carry the Warriors to their first state championship just three seasons later. In 2001, the Warriors won the Class 2 girls state track & field championship with just six student-athletes on the team. At that state meet, Phabienne won two individual state championships: the long jump and triple jump. Her triple jump of 37 feet 9 3/4 inches is still a Whitfield School record. She was a member of the 4x400M and 4x200M relay teams that both placed second earning critical points for the Warriors.
During the 2000 cross country season, Phabienne earned a seventh place individual finish at the state meet, helping the Warriors to a third place finish as a team.
She was a three-time triple jump district champion and a Tri-Star Athlete her sophomore and junior years and was named a St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete her senior year.
Phabienne continued her academic and athletic careers at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was a triple jumper on the UNC track & field team. She finished eighth in the 2002 ACC Outdoor Championships and had multiple top-five finishes in the triple jump during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. In addition, Phabienne was a four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll recipient.
Phabienne holds a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication/Public Relations from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.A. in Youth & Family Ministry from John Brown University.
